Sidhi was at the gates, with the usual choices- drive or let drive?
Long since, the dilemma materialized in all decisions- listen to the voices outside or the murmur within!!
‘Drive’ was what she preferred, but she seldom got her choice. As always, the voices won.
Sheer power of numbers, perhaps…or maybe, it does run deeper?

Sunday is the world renowned day for God, when the Heaven opens it’s cellar door to peep at Earthlings.
But for Sidhi it is Wednesday.
No weekend hangover for God, work fatigue yet to claim it’s toll.
It is Wednesday…quite logical too!!
But then, why the voices went mute on that very day, the day of flight??

Fresh from the mint, on full throttle to travel across the skies, the torch was up on that day too.
We’ll call it the Sun, the rising as dawn.
Sidhi too was out, full of purpose – when, as expected, dilemma surfaced.
The voices against murmur!!
Mom and Dad calling after her “ Let Saji drive, you’re too fast”
“But Ma, I’ve speaker’s club today..it’s WEDNESDAY!!”
“Sidhi! Always full of reasons. Listen to us!”
Listen to the voices..but not today. For once, she shut them off and grabbed the keys.
Saji was in one of his ‘What a wonder that..’ clouds, passive to the drama. He went to the passenger seat on auto-mode.
Sidhi rolled the window down and breathed in, the power of wheels was addictive. Enjoying the gush of air, that grew stronger each second..stronger and still stronger.
No ‘Go Slow’ signals from ‘ What a wonder that..’ world, not even when the car skid into the wrong lane.
But when she missed the curve and went straight down the slope, Saji let out a scream.
Perhaps the last time Sidhi heard her brother!
Perhaps- because she still hears him speak though not to her, sees him move about their home though not searching for her.

Sidhi waited impatiently at the gates, trying to choose drive or let drive, even as she looked forward to the walk with Saji.
Since that fateful Wednesday, Saji never drove!
His passion for wheels was buried with his sister.
